Camera Equipment
Creating great headshots and demo reels is a real art. Check back for our e-book on how to shoot your own headshots.
in the meantime, here is equipment we really use and really like for photo and video shoots.
Digital Camera
There are a lot of inexpensive point and shoot cameras with high mega pixels. When taking headshots, you want to have more control. At the very least, you want to be able to focus and zoom. This is a very easy to use camera that takes good enough photos for headshots.
Digital Video Camera
As far as value for your money, this is one of the best priced, high quality video cameras around. JVC is a solid video product brand, but you don’t pay extra for some of the other names, plus there isn’t the same problem you find with knock-off brands. This camera takes HD quality video and stills. It is great if you can’t carry a lot of equipment.
Fisheye Lens
Because we do action or skills reels, we like to be able to do video up close without a lot of distortion. This fisheye lens allows for better close-ups without totally warping the image.
Extra Battery
The only problem with video cameras in the field is that batteries don’t last as long as we do. We highly recommend that you buy at least one extra battery to start.
